- Description
- As power quality requirements and environmental concerns become increasingly important, the use of distributed generation becomes more common. The microgrid has been proposed as a way of utilising distributed generation which can address these concerns. Since distributed generators generally interface with the microgrid through an inverter, the inverter control algorithms are key to providing quality power in the microgrid. For this reason a 3-phase model of a low voltage distributed generation system has been implemented in Matlab/Simulink designed to examine the interactions between parallel inverters. Also, testing has been performed on one of the most common inverter controllers proposed for power sharing in DG systems - the droop controller - to see how it behaves under various non-ideal conditions.
